Writing In the Groove brought back cherished memories. The 9 years I spent with the band were the best of my musical career. It was when I was at the top of my game, not only musically, but personally. I had an excellent job, beautiful wife, nice house, new cars and trucks. I wanted for nothing. A time when flying of to Puerto Rico or Aruba just for the weekend was commonplace. Golf weekends with the boys in Florida or South Carolina 3 or 4 times a year was the order. I was living life for the sake of living life and enjoying it. As I look back on it now the music was only a fraction of my life as a whole. A very satisfying part, indeed. Even now I have several bands asking me to join and though I’d like to I just don’t have the time, there’s bigger fish to fry. And the fact is you really can’t relive the past anyway.

You can't go back, but thinking about it led to a nice piece of writing anyway.
